Fillings can be either Composite (tooth colored) or Silver.  Fillings are best when less than one third of the tooth is chipped or decayed.

Crowns can be gold or porcelain or a combination.  They are used when half or more of the tooth is to be restored or a tooth has a cracked cusp or after root canal treatment.

Root canals are done if the nerve has died inside of the tooth and the tooth is infected or abscessed.

Implants can replace a tooth or multiple teeth by using titanium in place of the root.  An abutment and crown are then placed over the implant to restore.

Extractions are a last resort.  They are done when the tooth is very loose due to gum disease or non-restorable because too much of the tooth is decayed or cracked off.
